Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! 20 You can make this choice by loving the lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the lord, you will live long in the land the lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
he added: “Take to heart all the words of warning I have given you today. Pass them on as a command to your children so they will obey every word of these instructions.

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the lord forever.
We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the lord, about his power and his mighty wonders. 5 For he issued his laws to Jacob; he gave his instructions to Israel. He commanded our ancestors to teach them to their children, 6 so the next generation might know them—even the children not yet born—and they in turn will teach their own children. 7 So each generation should set its hope anew on God, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands.8 Then they will not be like their ancestors—stubborn, rebellious, and unfaithful, refusing to give their hearts to God.

Children are a gift from the lord; they are a reward from him. 4 Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. 5 How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates.
Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them.
Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children.
Discipline your children while there is hope. Otherwise you will ruin their lives.
Even children are known by the way they act, whether their conduct is pure, and whether it is right.
Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.
A youngster’s heart is filled with foolishness, but physical discipline will drive it far away.

But now this is what the lord says: “Do not weep any longer, for I will reward you,” says the lord. “Your children will come back to you from the distant land of the enemy.
Tell your children about it in the years to come, and let your children tell their children. Pass the story down from generation to generation.

They asked Jesus, “Do you hear what these children are saying?” “Yes,” Jesus replied. “Haven’t you ever read the Scriptures? For they say, ‘You have taught children and infants to give you praise.’”
