Q What denomination are you a part of?
A ECBC is a non-denominational church committed to encouraging people with the love of God and equipping people with the Word of God for the purpose of influencing others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Q What should I wear to church?
A You will see all manner of dress at any given service - from jeans to suits, shorts to dresses. Come as you are!
Q Will I feel uncomfortable as a visitor?
A We hope not! We have many visitors at each service and do our best to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome.
Q Will I be asked to make an offering?
A There is no pressure to give in the offering for visitors or members. Visitors are encouraged to be our guest and find out who we are before making any financial gift.
Q What kind of music does East Coast Believers Church have?
A The Music at East Coast Believers Church could be described as contemporary. There are live musicians and singers who lead the congregation in a time of heartfelt praise and worship.
Q Do you raise your hands during service?
A You will often see Christians lifting up hands in church while singing or praising God. In Psalms 63:4 David says, "I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name." Other scriptual references to this in the Bible are: Lamentations 2:19, Psalm 134:2
Q Do you pray for the sick?
A Jesus and His disciples used oil to pray for the sick. In James 5:14 it says, "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and the them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." Other scriptual accounts of this in the Bible are: Mark 16:18, Mark 6:13 and James 5:14
Q Do you speak in tounges?
A Speaking in tongues began when the Holy Spirit filled the waiting disciples in Acts 2:4. "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance." Today, Christians speak in tongues when they are "baptized" in the Holy Spirit. Some call it a prayer language. Other scriptural references of this in the Bible are: Acts 10:46, 1 Timothy 2:8, 1 Corinthians 14:2, 4-5, 13-14, 18, 22 and 39
